Phil started Phil Price Advertising in 1972 as a one-man shop that has grown into one of the region's largest agencies. In May, 1994 Phil Price Advertising was renamed The Price Communications Group. Phil graduated in 1967 from Texas Tech University with a bachelor of business administration degree in advertising/marketing and returned to Texas Tech in 1970 for two years of post-graduate studies following his service in the Army. During his tour as an Infantry Officer in Vietnam, he was the recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star with "V" device, Combat Infantryman's Badge and several other awards, honors and medals. His community involvement has included membership on boards of directors of the American Cancer Society for Lubbock, Lubbock Symphony, Red Raider Club, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, West Texas Museum Association, Regional Advisory Board - Marketing and Distributive Education, Texas Tech Vietnam Center, Junior League Advisory Board, Wayland Baptist University Advisory Board and the Parenting Cottage; and member of the executive committee and board of directors for United Way of Lubbock. He is immediate past chairman of the dean's advisory committee for the School of Human Sciences and he served on the Tech Mass Communications advisory board for ten years. Phil has been the recipient of many honors and awards, some of which include: Outstanding Alumni, School of Mass Communications, Texas Tech University; Sterling Service Award, 10th District of the American Advertising Federation; Silver Medal, Lubbock Advertising Federation; the American Advertising Federation Aid to Education Award, Human Services Volunteer of the Year. He was inducted into the Texas Tech Mass Communications Hall of Fame in 1995. Phil has numerous professional affiliations and has served on the council of governors/American Advertising Federation national board, as president of the Lubbock Advertising Federation, governor of the 10th District (4 state) American Advertising Federation and president of the Southwest Association of Advertising Agencies. ![]() |
